Checkpoints

Add and manage checkpoints that can be used in several functions of the Mobitraxx system.

GEO checkpoints

GEO checkpoints use geographic coordinates to identify a control location. To register this type of location, just click on it on the application screen. Alternatively, it is possible to use the stealth mode. In this mode, just go through the checkpoint to register it, without the need of taping on the screen. Ideal for rounds carried out in motorized vehicles, as it is not necessary to handle the device. We recommend that the minimum distance between GEO checkpoints is 50 meters (about 160 feet).

The recommended way to add a GEO checkpoint is through the app itself.  It is much simpler, see how to do it here. However, if necessary, it is also possible to register a GEO checkpoint through the ADMINISTRATOR platform.

Add a new GEO checkpoint

At the WEB ADMINISTRATOR in REGISTERS / CHECKPOINTS

  1. Click ADD and then select GEO CHECKPOINT

  2. Select the account to which the checkpoint will be linked

  3. Indicate the position of the GEO checkpoint on the map by clicking on it or filling in the address field. The street view feature, if available, can help to position the GEO checkpoint at the exact point. Remember that the GEO checkpoint considers a radius of 20 meters (65 feet) as tolerance around the marked location.

  4. Give a description for the checkpoint

  5. Assign a group to the checkpoint. Group assignment is very important as it will help you organize your checkpoints. For Mobitraxx LITE users, this organization is very important, as this service does not have the use of ACCOUNTS. Learn more about groups.

  6. If required, establish a length of stay in the checkpoint.

  7. Also optionally, link an action to the location.

  8. SAVE

Here's how to add a GEO checkpoint via the Mobitraxx PRO/LITE.

QR checkpoints

QR checkpoints use printed QR codes that are read by the mobile device's camera. This way of identifying locations is ideal for environments in which the GPS satellite signal is not of good quality, or when the checkpoints are very close to each other.

Add a new QR checkpoint

At the WEB ADMINISTRATOR in REGISTERS / CHECKPOINTS

  1. Click ADD and then select QR CHECKPOINT

  2. Select the account to which the checkpoint will be linked.

  3. Give a description for the checkpoint

  4. Assign a group to the checkpoint. Group assignment is very important as it will help you organize your checkpoints. For Mobitraxx LITE users, this organization is very important, as this service does not have the use of ACCOUNTS. Learn more about groups.

  5. If required, establish a length of stay in the checkpoint.

  6. Also optionally, link an action to the location.

  7. You can link a geographic position to the QR checkpoint. This means that it can only be registered in the defined position. This link can be active, inactive or deleted.

  8. SAVE

QR codes printing

Click on PRINT QR CODES select and then click on PRINT SELECTED QR CODES. A PDF file will be generated.

Here's how to add a QR checkpoint via Mobitraxx PRO/LITE.

NFC checkpoints

NFC checkpoints use NFC tags with a frequency of 13.56 Mhz of the Ntag or mifare type. The latter is not compatible with some brands of devices, make sure before purchasing.

This way of identifying locations is ideal for environments in which the GPS satellite signal is not of good quality, or when the checkpoints are very close to each other. It is also important to consider that not all device models offer NFC functionality.

NFC checkpoints cannot be added via the WEB ADMINISTRATOR, only via a mobile application.

By editing you can link a geographic position to the NFC checkpoint. This means that it can only be registered in the defined position. This link can be active, inactive or deleted.

Beacon checkpoints

BEACON checkpoints use bluetooth reading and are ideal for situations where maximum discretion is required. Just approach the location where the beacon is installed and the reading is performed. To operate with this type of location, make sure that the device's bluetooth is enabled.

Beacon checkpoints cannot be added via the WEB ADMINISTRATOR, only via a mobile application.

By editing you can link a geographic position to the beacon checkpoint. This means that it can only be registered in the defined position. This link can be active, inactive or deleted.

See here how to register a BEACON location through the Mobitraxx app.

See here the conditions for registering and setting up a beacon.

Length of stay

Establishing a length of stay in a location

At the WEB ADMINISTRATOR in REGISTERS / LOCATIONS

Only through the WEB ADMINISTRATOR when adding or editing a place, it is possible to establish a time of permanence in it. Fill in the desired time in minutes in the permanence field.

Find out how to use the stay feature in Mobitraxx PRO or LITE.

Length of stay is available for Mobitraxx PRO or Mobitraxx LITE. Not available for beacon checkpoints.

Linked action

Action linked to a checkpoint

Immediately after registering a checkpoint, the Mobitraxx PRO application can suggest filling out an occurrence or checklist so that they are linked to the checkpoint.

See how to register an occurrence in Mobitraxx PRO.

See how to fill a checklist on Mobitraxx PRO.

With this feature it is possible to activate a command automatically whenever a checkpoint is registered. Thus, if there is any specific procedure linked to the checkpoint the user will already know what to do. Be judicious when using this resource, as the excess of records can pollute your reports and make the consultation of them slower. This is an OPTIONAL feature.

Linking an action to a checkpoint

At the WEB ADMINISTRATOR in REGISTERS / CHECKPOINTS

This can be done when adding or editing a checkpoint. Each checkpoint allows only one linked action.

1. With the checkpoint details screen open, select the linked action, which can be an occurrence or a checklist.

2. Select the detail, which refers to the occurrence or checklist specifically linked to the checkpoint.

The linked action is available for Mobitraxx PRO.

Edit and delete checkpoints

Edit a checkpoint

Click on the pencil in the checkpoint's row to make the edits.

Delete a checkpoint

Click on the trash can in the checkpoint's row to delete it.

To delete more than one checkpoint at the same time, check the checkpoints to be deleted and click "Delete selection".

The use of the checkpoints is available for all Mobitraxx services.
